Different drying principles of common ink and UV curing ink
We all know that when analyzing two things, we will find out the differences and similarities between them. Today we want to analyze the drying and curing relationship between ordinary ink and UV ink, so we must understand that there is What is the difference, what is the principle of drying and curing, please see below for details.
There is a difference between ordinary ink and UV ink. First of all, the systems of ordinary ink and UV ink are different, and the physical and chemical processes in their drying and curing process are also different. What is more obvious is that the drying and curing equipment are also different. For ordinary inks, we use the concept of drying to describe, and for UV inks, we use the concept of curing. Now printing presses are equipped with drying and curing equipment at the same time, so we must better understand their drying and curing principles.
The principle of ink drying: using dry vegetable oil as a binder to undergo polarization polymerization in the air to change the molecular form of vegetable oil. Thus it is fixed on the surface of the substrate and dried. This process of using oxidative polymerization to convert the oil from a low molecular weight liquid to a solid network of macromolecules is called drying of the ink. The effect is similar to that of UV curing. After the ink dries, the surface gloss is high, the ink film is firm and scratch-resistant.
The principle of UV light curing of UV ink: UV ink is cured by ultraviolet radiation, and the curing of UV ink needs to add a small amount of photoinitiator, and the polymerization reaction occurs under the combined action of photoinitiator and ultraviolet light. Thereby changing the molecular shape to solidify the ink. This reaction can be completed in a few seconds or even less than a few seconds.
Through the above introduction, we know the relationship between the drying of ordinary inks and the curing of UV inks. Then we can operate more professionally when choosing inks or operating machines, which undoubtedly saved us a lot of trouble.
